Snapchat for Business: The Ultimate Marketing Guide

Snapchat is still extremely popular among Millennials. So if your goal is to engage a younger demographic, Snapchat can be a potent source of engagement.

Snapchat was launched in 2011. And of early 2020, Snapchat and still is one of the top 15 most-used social media platforms in the world.

While Facebook, YouTube and Instagram are still seeing significantly more users than Snapchat each month, using Snapchat for business could still be an effective way for your brand to reach a new audience.

That’s because, as of January 2020, 218 million users were active on Snapchat each day. That’s millions of Snaps created, sent, and seen every day.

If you’re already comfortable using Snapchat, it’s time to take it to the next level. Here are essential Snapchat business tips and tricks you should know.

Benefits of Snapchat for business

First things first: Know that Snapchat might not be the right social media platform for every business.

However, if the following points speak to your brand’s values, it might be right for your brand to use Snapchat for marketing purposes.

Connect with a younger demographic

If your videos for business wants to connect with people under the age of 35, Snapchat is the right place to be. That’s because 82% of all Snapchat users are 34 years old or younger.

And chances are, you might have some trouble reaching this audience over other platforms. More than one third of Snapchat users can’t be found on Instagram.

Data also shows that Snapchat is an engaging platform for this younger audience. On average, users spend 30 minutes per day using Snapchat.

Get users to interact with your brand

Snapchatters are 60% more likely to make an impulse purchase on this platform.

While users are connecting with friends over Snapchat, they are also likely to discover new businesses. Snapchat’s current design connects friends via the ‘Chat’ button on the left-hand side of the home screen.

It connects users with brands and content creators via the ‘Discover’ icon on the right-hand of the home screen.

For example, in the Discover section Snapchatters can see content made by brands using Snapchat for marketing, like Cosmopolitan magazine and MTV.

And just like other social media platforms, users aren’t only connecting with friends. Snapchat users are spending 35% more time in the Discover section every day.

Stand out and show your brand’s playful side

This app was designed to be casual and fun. It’s about being authentic, not picture-perfect. Snapchat even calls itself the app for #RealFriends.

Many of the features you’ll use are about being lighthearted, creative, and even a little cheeky. For example, Snapchat recently launched new ways for users and brands to express themselves, like with cameos and 3D snaps.

How to set up a Snapchat Business account

To effectively use Snapchat for video marketing, you’ll need to create a Snapchat Business account. It doesn’t matter whether you’re using the platform for a large company or whether you’re using Snapchat for your small videos for business — the Business account is needed.

Setting up a Snapchat Business account allows you to do more within the platform. It lets you access more features that will support your marketing strategy.

For example, a few of the features you can access with a Snapchat Business account include:

  • Advertising on Snapchat through its Ads Manager.
  • Age-targeting your custom creations to reach your desired audience.
  • Location-targeting your custom creations to reach an audience in a specific area.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to create a Snapchat Business account.

1. Download the app

Find the free app in the App Store (for iOS devices) or in the Google Play Store (for Android devices).

2. Create an account

If your business isn’t on Snapchat yet, start by creating an account.

Enter all the relevant information, including the phone number and birthday, and select a username that reflects your brand.

3. Set up a Business Account

Once you have an account, set up your Snapchat Business account by accessing Ads Manager. You’ll log in using the same username and password that you set up for your regular Snapchat account.

Then, you’ll be directed to a page that looks like this:

Enter your business’s legal name, choose which country you’ll be doing business in and choose your currency. Then, a Business Account is created automatically.

For even more details on how to create a Snapchat Business account, watch this video:

4. Start Snapping and creating campaigns!

You’re ready. Create advertising campaigns to help you reach your target audience and start designing fun, quirky content that fits with your business’s tone.

11 essential Snapchat marketing tips for business

After mastering the basic, beginner-level skills, incorporate these tips for effective Snapchat marketing.

Let your audience know you’re on Snapchat

If Snapchat is a new addition for your business, the first step is to let your audience know you’re here. And since the platform is significantly different from Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, you’ll need to try some new techniques to get more Snapchat followers.

There are a few different ways to spread the news.

Cross-promote your Snapchat username

If you have gained a loyal following on other social media platforms, let those users know you’re now on Snapchat. Schedule posts in Facebook. Or schedule Tweets that share the news.

Create an “add me” URL

Click on the settings icon in the top right-hand corner when in your videos for business Snapchat account. Then, click on ‘username’ in the dropdown.

This will show you what your unique “add me” URL is for Snapchat. These URLs always follow the same format: snapchat.com/add/yourusername

Create a snapcode

A snapcode is a badge that people can scan using their phone or tablet. Scanning this helps Snapchatters find you easily and quickly. It works much like a QR code.

Snapcodes also let users find your brand’s unique filters, lenses, and content.

To create a snapcode:

  • Click on the settings icon in the top right-hand corner when in your business’s Snapchat account.
  • Select ‘snapcodes’ from the dropdown.
  • Go to ‘my snapcodes’ to find your business’s own, unique code.

In the same spot, you’ll also see that you can create other snapcodes and connect with other users via their snapcodes.

For example, taking a photo of Teen Vogue’s Snapcode will direct a user to their Snapchat content. The snapcode will collect under ‘scan history’ or ‘scan from camera roll’ in your snapcode settings.

Add the Snapcode or URL to your marketing materials

This could include your website, your email signature, your newsletter, and more.

Know that a snapcode doesn’t have to be viewed on a screen to work. You can add your business’s snapcode to video marketing merchandise as well.

Have an effective marketing strategy in place

Snapchat might not be a fit for every brand. As mentioned earlier, Snapchat is used mostly by individuals under the age of 35 and is known for being a playful platform.

But if that sounds right for your brand, have a clear social media strategy in place before creating your account.

  • Research your competitors. Are they using Snapchat? What are they doing effectively on Snapchat?
  • Outline your objectives. What is your brand hoping to achieve by being on Snapchat? How will you measure success?
  • Create a content calendar. This will help you know when to post content, what content to post, and how much time to spend interacting with your followers.
  • Determine the brand’s look and tone. Plan ahead so that your Snapchat presence looks consistent and is in keeping with your brand’s presence elsewhere.

Know who your audience is and track Snapchat metrics

Use Snapchat Insights, the built-in analytics tool, to see who is viewing your content, understand what content is performing well, and drive a Snapchat strategy that works.

You’ll be able to track important metrics that will help your Snapchat business strategy, like:

  • Views. See how many story views your brand gets per week and per month. Also see how much time users spend viewing your stories.
  • Reach. See how many Snapchatters your content reaches each day. Swipe through the carousel and also see the average view time and story view percentage.
  • Demographic information. Understand the age of your audience, where in the world they’re based, and information related to their interests and lifestyle.

If you’re looking for detailed analytics information, here we show you other, third-party analytics tools that might be handy to use, as well as specific metrics that are useful to track.

Note: Even with a Snapchat Business account, you might not have access to Snapchat Insights. Currently, it’s only available to accounts with large followings.

Interact with other users on Snapchat

On Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, brands’ content is mixed in with posts from users’ friends and family. This isn’t the case on Snapchat. Here, content from friends and content from brands or content creators is separated.

Because of this split screen design, you’ll need to engage to maintain a presence. Engage on the platform by:

  • Viewing Snaps and stories created by others.
  • Following other Snapchatters.
  • Collaborating with brands or creators.
  • Viewing any Snaps sent to you.
  • Respond to Snaps and instant messages sent to you.
  • Plan to create content regularly. Once you’ve used Snapchat Insights to learn when your audience is on the platform, post at those peak times.

Use Snapchat’s many features to create engaging content

Snaps are designed to disappear, but there is a lot you can do to elevate a simple image or videos for business to make it engaging.

To help your content stand out from other brands’ content in Snapchat’s Discover section, make use of the following features:

  • Draw over a Snap
  • Write captions over Snaps
  • Collect multiple Snaps to tell a narrative
  • Add information like the date, location time or temperature
  • Add background music to Snaps
  • Incorporate polling
  • Add a Snapchat filter (or several) to a Snap
  • Add a Snapchat lens

(Find details on sponsored filters and lenses below.)

For example, publishers like National Geographic create Stories by compiling Snaps to share information like one of their articles would. Their Stories also encourage Snapchatters to click through to the website to read more once the Story is complete.

We’ve compiled detailed instructions on how to do some of the above features, as well as some other Snapchat hacks.

Make the most of sponsored AR lenses

Snapchat’s artificial reality (AR) lenses change the way users experience the world. Simply, they superimpose digital effects, animations or graphics on top of a real-life image.

Plus, Snapchatters can interact with the superimposed image — the AR effects move as your real-life image moves.

Considering 75% of Snapchat users engage with AR every day, creating a sponsored lens that reflects your brand can be an effective way of using Snapchat for video marketing.

AR lenses are made using the free software Lens Studio. In fact, 20% of Snaps use a lens created by brands or other content creators in Lens Studio.

By creating your own AR lens, you’ll reach Snapchatters looking for new, fun lenses to play with and interact with. This also boosts recognition of your brand.

For example, for the 2020 Super Bowl, brands like Mountain Dew, Doritos and Pepsi created sponsored AR lens for Snapchat. These lenses were extensions of their TV ads that played during the Super Bowl, created to reach a wider audience.

Design a sponsored geofilter

Geofilters are a simple overlay for a Snap. They are available to users within a specific area and for a specific amount of time.

A filter could include the addition of an emoji or a designed sticker, include location information or change the colour of a Snap.

As well as using filters that already exist on the platform, you can create a filter specific to your business.

To create a branded filter:

  1. Log in to Snapchat’s Create Your Own.
  2. Create the filter. Maybe you add your business’s logo, text detailing a special product launch or event, or other elements.
  3. Upload the final design.
  4. Choose how long you want your filter to be available. Select a start date and an end date.
  5. Choose a location that your filter will be available in. Snapchatters will only be able to use the custom filter if they are within the area you’ve set. This is called a geofence.
  6. Submit the request to Snapchat. The cost will vary depending on how long the filter is available for and how large the geofence is.
  7. Typically, filters are approved within three hours.

Stay up-to-date with the newest features

Snapchat has introduced several new features recently. They’re creative and quirky. And might not all be a fit for your video for business social media strategy.

Snapchat Cameos

In December, Snapchat launched Cameos. This feature takes the account user’s face and pastes it onto numerous animations and graphics.

Snaps in 3D

Back in September, Snapchat introduced its 3D camera mode feature for select users. This feature makes your Snap come alive by giving it that additional dimension. When users wiggle their phone, they experience that 3D effect.

This could be a useful feature for brands showing off new products or to show more sides to a product than a traditional photo can.

Bitmoji TV

This new feature launched this February. Simply, this is an animated show — but it stars Snapchatters’ avatars. This feature is completely unique to this social media platform.

Make it easy for users to contact your business

Also this February, Snapchat launched its Swipe Up to Call and Swipe Up to Text features.

This new feature might be the most obvious one for brands to adopt. Now, as well as being able to swipe up to visit a business’s website or download an app, Snapchatters can also swipe up to call or text the business from their mobile device.

Considering users are 60% more likely to make an impulse purchase on this platform, this is another way to prompt Snapchatters’ buying decisions.

For now, this feature is only available in the USA and the Middle East.

Advertise on Snapchat using its various ad formats

To make the most of using Snapchat for business, you might want to plan to incorporate its various advertising formats into your strategy.

The numerous ad formats available include:

  • Snap ads
  • Collection ads
  • Story ads
  • Dynamic ads

Dynamic ads are the newest ad format from Snapchat. They launched in October 2019.

As well as raising awareness of your brand and its products, investing in these different ad formats can drive users to your website and encourage purchases.

For example, Buzzfeed uses the ‘Shop’ feature, which directs Snapchatters to its product catalogue.

Target ads to a specific audience

With a Snapchat Business account, you can set specific filters so your ads will reach specific audiences.

This can help you reach Snapchatters who are already interacting with your brand. But it can also help you reach a new audience.

For example, you can target your Snapchat ads to a lookalike audience. That means Snapchat helps you reach people who might be interested in your brand because of their similarity to other Snapchatters who are already interacting with your brand.

You can also target ads by the age of the user, by their specific interests, or by their previous interactions as a customer of yours.

Now that you know some of the benefits of Snapchat for businesses, how to get your Snapchat Business Account set up, the features your business can incorporate on Snapchat, and how to leverage Snapchat ads, it’s time to make the most of this platform for marketing your video for business.

Why Buying YouTube Views Is Bad For Video Marketing

Ever wondered if you should buy subscribers to help grow your YouTube channel? Well, it’s pretty simple, you shouldn’t! As a social media video production company trust us, you don’t want to do it. And this is the main reason why. (Advice from an expert videographer, kent).

Below are YouTube’s Terms of Service. You probably haven’t read them, and that wouldn’t surprise me because nobody ever reads them. But as a videographer we have and if you have intentions of buying subscribers, then you may want to read Permissions and Restrictions section 6, which states that you are not allowed to do the following:

Cause or encourage any inaccurate measurements of genuine user engagement with the Service. Including by paying people or providing them with incentives to increase a videographer in Kent’s views, likes or dislikes.

Take some sound advice from us a video marketing agency, it doesn’t matter where you buy your subscribers from, and it doesn’t matter how much they promise your subscribers are legitimate, and will genuinely watch your content. Ultimately, you have paid somebody to try and artificially grow your channel, and to manipulate YouTube’s metrics, and that is against Terms of Service. And the buck stops there. YouTube are the gatekeepers, and if they find out what you’ve been doing, then your channel will most likely be suspended or terminated.

Why Buying Subscribers is So Bad For Your YouTube Channel

Why you should avoid buying YouTube views, videographer in kent, video production company, marketing videos for business, Marketing videos for business, video marketing agency, corporate video production, video production agency, video production company, video agency, video company, social media video production, videos for business, product video production, creative video production, videography Kent, wedding videography Kent, wedding video, Kent wedding videography Kent, lifestream services, video production studio, marketing agency, film production company, wedding films.
Don’t Buy YouTube Subscribers

Now let’s say for argument’s sake that you do buy some subscribers and YouTube doesn’t take down your channel. What are you actually going to get from those subscribers you paid for? Well, it’s kind of similar to sub4sub. And while we are on the subject of sub4sub, I hope that it won’t come as a surprise to you to learn that this practice also falls under the fake engagement policy. Buying subscribers, sub4sub, you know it’s wrong, don’t do it.

Now let’s put on my hypothetical hat for a second. Let’s say you were on the other side of a fence, and somebody paid you to subscribe to a channel, and maybe watch a video. Once you’ve done what you were paid to do, you’re under no obligation to watch any more of their content or to stay subscribed to their channel. You didn’t choose to watch their content in the first place, there was a financial incentive. That’s not really the relationship you want with your audience, is it?

Granted, that was hypothetical. But you know what I’m talking about. Nobody said YouTube was easy and buying subscribers and indeed views make it impossible because your channel will be terminated. This is all blood, sweat, tears, and hopefully at the end of it, some success. But being a video marketing agency we know the important thing is, you need to do it organically. So no, this isn’t a videographer in Kent telling you how to buy YouTube subscribers better. This is a video marketing agency educating you why you shouldn’t buy YouTube subscribers. And we hope you found it valuable. If you did, you may be on the cusp of subscribing to our YouTube channel. And if this little graphic down here helps push you over the edge, which is allowed by YouTube, then go ahead. And that’s how you get subscribers the right way.

VidlQ Software

social media video production
VidlQ Software

Well first of all, the vidIQ software is certified directly by YouTube, and that means we have to go through compliancy checks every year or two to make sure that our software isn’t doing anything that it shouldn’t. We follow Terms of Service on YouTube. Simply put, we are not a hacked piece of software. There isn’t a magic button in vidIQ that gives you more views and more subscribers.

What we do is signpost your journey. Point you in the right direction. Whether that be through researching YouTube, finding the right keywords to better serve your videos to the right audience. Analyse every single video on the platform to find out what’s working for your competitors or what’s successful for a particular channel. How you can potentially follow that success. Auditing your own channel, going through all of those YouTube analytics and bringing the important ones to the surface with single clicks, and suggesting actions that will help fix problems on your channel and help you grow quicker.

Not necessarily help you grow by hacks, but by helping you grow organically. vidIQ is free to download.

YouTube Giveaways: The Rules

videographer in Kent
YouTube Giveaways

Now as we’re on the topic of growing subscribers, there is one more grey area to take a look at. Giveaways. Can you encourage people to subscribe to your channel during a giveaway? You are allowed to hold a giveaway contest on YouTube, but there are lots of rules surrounding them.

I also spotted a Tweet from Team YouTube that says, “Giveaways are still allowed! What we don’t allow is linking to sites that solely aim to drive up subscriptions or other engagement metrics like views or likes through external contests and other means. Since that’s the case with this site, it violates our external links policy.”

And what YouTube was talking about here was Gleam. This service helps users manage competitions by giving entrants multiple ways of entering a contest, such as following the user on Twitter, or subscribing to their YouTube channel, watching a video. But unfortunately, YouTube doesn’t want you to do any of that anymore, because it manipulates its metrics.

So again, our advice would be to not use giveaways on YouTube that encourage the viewer to subscribe to a channel to enter the contest.

Is Embedding Videos In Emails A Video Marketing Win?

Directly embedding videos into your emails can seem to make a lot of sense we do it here at our video production company. Rather than dropping a clickable video thumbnail and forcing someone to take action and click to view the whole thing, wouldn’t it be easier if the email recipient could simply access the video content within the email itself? Well, no. If you didn’t know you can post videos on social media. Our video marketing agency reveals how to maximise corporate video production.

Long-term the business ramifications can be costly for embedding videos. The decision to add corporate video production values to embedding in an email can even reduce website traffic and content engagement.

As a video production company, we love to corporate videos into everything, but let’s be clear: If you really want to get the most out of your video email marketing efforts, you should not embed video in an email.

Here is what you need to know about why embedding video in your emails is possibly a no-go.

1. There’s no opportunity for further engagement

Getting people to watch your videos is brilliant, but as a business, you need and want more than that. You want those same viewers to engage and interact with your brand. Not just views that leads to nothing. What’s the point of all those hours you spent producing the perfect subject line. Picking the right product screenshots for your email if a user just watches your video and then deletes the email?

When your video production is on its own landing page, you then have more control over your viewer’s next action. They can leave a comment or ask a question immediately after watching. They can explore other content on your site and even share your content. The people they share it with can embark on their own journey, this keeps the cycle going.

If you embed a video production in your email and expect the user to go to your website afterward, you are creating more work for them. By sending them straight to your landing page to watch the video will allow you to make any associated resources. At our video production company we do recommend different techniques to this for corporate video production.

2. Desktop and mobile benefits for users are minimal

Some people claim that we should make everything as easy as possible for your readers. That would mean just including the full video and not a thumbnail. In reality  we’re talking about one extra click. Just one! That’s a tiny bit of extra work, weighted against the outsized benefits of bringing a new user to your site. Our video production company does this for a range of clients.

As you can see, the two desktop experiences are pretty similar. In the embedded version, you click the play button, and the video plays. In the non-embedded version, a new window quickly pops up as soon as you hit the play button on the static image.

Though it’s fair to say that the user experience on mobile and desktop is a little faster with embedded video in an email, it’s not enough of a difference to truly impact the user. If a user isn’t willing to wait the few extra seconds it takes to get to your site and click a second play button, chances are they probably weren’t that interested in the video production to begin with.

This is especially true when you consider an audience of B2B professionals. If they’re interested in your product, they’re going to want to visit your website for more information no matter what — so why not give them a little nudge in the right direction by guiding them right to your site?

videos for marketing
The importance of video marketing

3. Your video won’t live as a permanent resource

No matter who your email provider is (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo!, etc.), we all know the “here today, gone tomorrow” nature of email. As emails flood in throughout the day, especially for B2B professionals, that full video you decided to embed will likely be seen once — when the person opens the email — and never again.

Linking the video directly to your website makes it a permanent resource. You can easily add the video to whatever page it’s most appropriate for. It could live on your homepage, blog, or even a help centre page. Where this video is distributed on your site is ultimately up to you, but the fact that it permanently resides there makes it easier for people to watch later on.

The goal is to create a full-on content library that people can count on as a trusted resource. Website visitors will have a reason to come back if they know that new video content is consistently coming in. When they do return, they’re more likely to stick around and consume more videos and other types of content from your business.

And we’d be remiss not to mention the SEO benefits you get by hosting video on your website. If someone really loves your video but can only access it in an email, how are they going to link to it on their own website or through social media channels? You might as well tell them, “Hey, so we’ve got this great video production here, but we don’t want anyone else knowing about it but you!” Sure, that might seem cool in a secret club kind of way — but it’s also a sure fire way to get zero SEO traction with your video. Corporate video production.

4. Video can outshine other important calls to action in your emails

Let’s be honest: Video can really steal the show sometimes. If you embed a video in your email, it’s basically like having a giant neon sign that reads, “Watch me! Pay attention to me!” If email subscribers want the video, that’s a win — but if engaging with the video comes at the cost of the primary goal of the email, it’s definitely not.

“If email subscribers want the video, that’s a win — but if engaging with the video comes at the cost of the primary goal of the email, it’s definitely not.”

In many cases, the video component of emails you send might not even be your primary CTA. In fact, you might want subscribers to do something completely different. Maybe the video shares information about a new eBook you just launched, and the CTA button for the book is just below it. If you embed the full video, people may miss or ignore the CTA. An embedded video can overpower the other CTAs within the email, and people will simply watch without taking your desired action. You have to be aware of these things in corporate video production.

5. What’s The Alternative?

Of course, something similar could be said for a non-embedded video as well. The key difference is the non-embedded video that leads to your site can also serve as the perfect spot for your desired CTA.

In that case, because the email recipient has already taken the step of coming to your site to watch the video, there’s a better chance they’ll actively seek out the CTA button if they like what they see. Instead of passively watching the video in an email, they’re already more invested by coming to your site and actively becoming part of your sales funnel and corporate video production.

We hope our video production company has convinced you that putting video on your website rather than in emails translates to a better chance of generating more customers.

Even though the ability to embed video in email is a cool technology, we prefer our audience to always consume the full content on our site instead of in an email client. This gives us more opportunities for user engagement, allows us to build out our content library, and ultimately avoids confusion around what actions we want people to take

On the surface, directly embedding videos into your emails seems to make a lot of sense. Instead of dropping a clickable video thumbnail and forcing someone to take action and click to view the whole thing, wouldn’t it be easier if the email recipient could simply access the video content within the email itself?

6. Corporate Video Production.

Embedding video within emails as part of your corporate video production may help create a slightly more seamless experience for email marketing purposes, but the long-term business ramifications can be costly. The decision to embed video in an email can even reduce website traffic and content engagement.

“We don’t subscribe to many absolutes, but let’s be clear: If you really want to get the most out of your video email marketing efforts, you should not embed video in an email.”

We don’t subscribe to many absolutes, but let’s be clear: If you really want to get the most out of your video email marketing efforts, you should not embed video in an email. Pretty bold statement, right? Don’t worry — we’re not in the business of dropping spicy takes and not offering additional context to back them up. Here’s what you need to know about why embedding video in your emails is a no-go.

Apple iPhone

Since the Apple iPhone 7, video producers were given the ability to shoot features with, as long as you had conversion lenses attached to the smartphone.

Directors attached lenses like Moment anamorphic lens to give the iPhone footage a more cinematic look to the footage.

With the release of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple has finally added 5G to its flagship Smartphone

It features the powerful A14 Bionic chip, 5G to download and stream high-quality video marketing, a bright 6.7″ Super Retina XDR display, and Ceramic Shield for better drop performance.

Apple‘s new LiDAR scanner improves autofocus in low light conditions and offers night mode for portrait photos.

Apple Pro RAW is a film production dream because it will give you full creative control over colour, detail, and dynamic range on the iPhone or with a third party app.

It has an extended dynamic range for video production up to 30fps and cinematic video stabilization for video marketing in 4K, 1080p, and 720p.

Apple continued with the three rear camera system like the predecessor Apple iPhone 11 pro max.

The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max features a 12mp 26mm f1.8 wide-angle, a 52mm f2.8 2x telephoto. A super-wide 13mm f2.4 lens, so loyal filmmakers to the Apple eco-system are now rejoicing in the fact that they now have an amazing filmmaking smartphone.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max rear cameras will shoot in 4K UHD at 24/30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/120/240fps, 720p at 30fps.

If you are using the front camera for vlogging, it will shoot in 4K UHD at 24/30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/120fps.

How to Sell Using Video: Product Videos for Marketing

How to sell with videos? Is video marketing even worth the trouble?

The following is a guide that explains everything you want to know about producing videos for marketing to help increase video SEO.

Our video company will have you know that video marketing is very important for every video company. This post will explain why this is as well, and whether it’s best to get help from a video marketing agency.

For all your questions, this guide has the answers. Read on to learn all about video content marketing.

Is Video Marketing Dead

There was a time when video marketing was simply one of many marketing options. Now, it shouldn’t be considered optional at all. Right now, video content makes up 71% of all downstream internet traffic, according to Comcast.

Other statistics confirm the importance of video marketing, too. According to Wyzowl, consumers would rather watch a video than read about a product they are interested in buying.

These facts make it clear that advertising with video is now more important than ever before. What’s more, your competition certainly knows this to be true. If you still only produce written marketing content, we’re afraid you won’t stand much of a chance.

What Video Marketing Can Do

Besides these cold, calculated statistics, it’s easy to see why video marketing is important simply because of what it can do. Below are the most important examples of this along with a little bit on how you would go about creating such videos.

1. Demo Your Products and Services

The most obvious benefit of video marketing is that you can explain and showcase your products in a way that no amount of text ever could. With text, your audience can only imagine, but with a video, they hear, see, and even emote.

Besides physically holding the product in their hands, there’s no better way to communicate this information. Your audience will gain a deep understanding of your product and see it in action.

The easiest way to create these videos is to perform a live demo and record it. You can even involve actual consumer participants. This way, consumers can see real people, just like them, reacting to your product.

You don’t have to, though. Simply demonstrate all the uses and features of your product. Start with opening the box and listing the contents and go from there.

2. Answer Your Customers’ Questions

Do you find that a lot of your customers keep asking the same questions? How-to videos could be a great way to provide the answers you’re customers are looking for through Youtube.

social media video production by video marketing agency
Creative Video Production, Video Marketing, Video marketing agency, video production company. company video, product video production, marketing videos for business, Corporate Video Production

Obviously, you should start with specific questions that customers have actually asked you. But you can also take any task that customers would use your product for and turn it into a how-to video.

Also, do you already have a blog on your website that answers your customers’ questions? It’s very easy to turn your current blog posts into video content. Even a simple video of text or narration over product footage gets your content to appear in online video searches.

3. Boost Your Website Traffic

As mentioned, video is the most looked-at content on the internet. If you don’t have any videos on your website, people will have to look elsewhere.

Also, a lot of video content is displayed in “cards” at the top of search engine result pages. Search engine users could see your website videos before all other results, simply because of the type of content it is.

4. Expand Your Audience

Likewise, a lot of internet users are looking for video content exclusively. If they perform a video search on Google or they check YouTube for content, will they find your videos?

That depends on whether or not you have published any. Any text or images you have published online are excluded from these results. By creating video content, you gain access to the internet’s largest audience—an audience that you couldn’t reach any other way.

5. You Can Also Get Professional Help

Lastly, no one ever said you had to plan and execute your video marketing strategy all by yourself. In fact, it’s usually best to outsource, anyway.

If you do create your own videos, you’ll most likely have to hire an in-house video marketing team. With all the scouting, interviewing, and hiring, it’s a lot more trouble than outsourcing to a video marketing agency.

Such agencies are experts at both advertising and video production. They can make sure you have a steady stream of video content each week. Or, you can simply hire them for individual video projects as often as you need a little extra help.

5 YouTube & Social Media Video Production Successes

Viewers watch hundreds of millions of hours of YouTube videos every day, making it a great place to host social media video productions. We create marketing videos for businesses here as part of our creative video production services. Check out our top camera guide.

Each minute, there are an estimated 300+ hours of YouTube videos being uploaded. The reach and power of this has been demonstrated by many artists, celebrities, and comedians who have launched their careers through simple videos – in some cases overnight.

How do you become a success on YouTube? Guiding a YouTube channel to fame is not an easy task. To get things going, you can speed up the process by purchasing views, likes, and subscribers. It’s no substitute for organic growth, but it can definitely get the ball rolling. Though as a video marketing agency we do not recommend doing this and we will explain why in another post.

TikToks Affect on Video Marketing Agency
TikTok is a global success. Our video production company lifts the lid on what makes it a game-changer!

Let Us Give you Inspiration

To give you some inspiration and handy ideas to help you along the way our creative video production team has decided to shine some light. Take a look at how these YouTube stars grew their channels. What can you learn from them? Perfect for your social media video productions.

1. Michelle Phan

Michelle Phan got a humble start on YouTube. She was one of the earliest YouTubers to share personal tutorials. In 2007, she uploaded her first short video on how to apply natural makeup that today has more than 11 million views. Great face for selling marketing videos for business!

Her tenth upload, “Seductive Smokey Eyes Tutorial,” surpassed 100k views in record time. By 2009, after social media sites shared her Valentine’s day-themed video “Romantic Valentine Look” her channel reached 4.5 million views. It wasn’t until her “Lady Gaga Poker Face Tutorial video” in May 2009, however, which reached 1.6 million views in just two weeks, that she really got put in the spotlight.

Almost 10 years and more than 8 million subscribers later, she has now built an empire. She has a beauty social network, a sampling program, her own YouTube network, and her own makeup line, Ipsy. Ipsy raised $100 million in September 2015, and is valued at $500 million.

Advice from Michelle: “The beauty of the internet is there’s a niche market for everything and if you can focus on it you can build a sustainable and viable business of it.”

2. Lily Singh

This Toronto native is now one of YouTube’s superstars, and has even landed a role in a Bollywood movie. Besides being a YouTube personality, Lily is a rapper, actress, motivational speaker, and video blogger.

She operates as a one-woman production company. She is her own boss, editor, shooter, writer, and everything else. Before her success on YouTube she was studying psychology and planning to go to graduate school. She discovered YouTube, uploaded a video, and the rest was history.

She started her channel in 2010 and, suffering from depression, she started doing videos to help herself and other people about their circumstances. Now she has built a channel with more than 10 million subscribers and is Forbes’ third highest-paid YouTube Star, making $7.5 million last year.

Advice from Lily: “There’s no escalators, there’s only staircases to success, there is no substitute for hard work.”

3. Smosh

It was in 2005, when new high school graduates, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, discovered what it’s like to go viral. These two were joking around playing with a webcam and lip-synching to the Power Rangers theme, and decided to upload the video on MySpace. That’s how it all began.

A little later in November 2005, they uploaded a video lip-synching to the Pokemon theme song. This one was a huge hit, eventually going viral and amassing millions of views.

Today they are Smosh, and they’ve gone way beyond lip-sync videos and moved into comedy shorts, where they dominate the industry. Their channel has more than 22 million subscribers and is one of the most popular on all of YouTube.

Since then Smosh was acquired by Defy Media in 2013, and they now have more channels to monetize. They’ve launched Smosh Games, and even starred in their own film, “Smosh: The Movie.”

Advice from Anthony and Ian: “For some reason, to me, it’s the most exciting to try new things, and over the past 10 years, we’ve tried a ton of new things and sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t,” says Padilla. “If we would have just kept doing the same lip-synch videos from the start we would have never stayed relevant.”

4. Tyler Oakley

Tyler Oakley was a freshman at Michigan State University when he uploaded his first video in 2007. The video was about keeping in touching with friends who are attending different universities. His videos eventually grew into different topics like pop culture, sexuality, and mental health, and has used this platform to promote LGBT rights.

He films his videos mostly from his living room. Nonetheless, he has been able to grow his influence to massive proportions and has interviewed some famous personalities like Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, the band One Direction and the singer Idina Menzel. He was also able to sign a deal with Ellen DeGeneres to create his own digital talk show. Tyler has undertaken so many social media video productions it’s crazy!

He now has more than 8 million subscribers and is Forbes’ sixth highest-paid YouTube Star in 2016, earning more than $6 million dollars. He was also named as one of Time Magazine’s 30 Most Influential People on the internet.

Advice from Tyler: “It’s not going to happen overnight. And if you do go viral with your first video, I would say that’s more of a curse than a blessing, because there’s so much expectation of what you then have to keep doing.”

5. PewDiePie

Completing the list of YouTube success stories is the highest paid YouTube star for 2 years in a row: Felix Ulf Kjellberg, more famously known as PewDiePie.

He joined YouTube in 2010 and to this day, he is the most-watched video-game commentator online – and that’s saying something, given how big this niche has become. In order to fund his videos, he sold prints of his art projects and worked at a hotdog stand. Two years later, he surpassed one million subscribers in his channel.

Since 2013, he has held the title of the most subscribed user on YouTube. In 2016, he was named as Forbes’ highest-paid YouTube star, taking home $15 million dollars which was $3 million more than he did in 2015. He is the first person to ever reach 10 billion YouTube views, and was named one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential People of 2016.

Advice from PewDewPie: “I just want to entertain; that is my main objective and what comes before everything else.”

What are Instagram reels, Instagram for business

Like all social media apps, TikTok’s future is uncertain therefore Instagram has taken this uncertainty and is hoping to lure some creators away. They can do this with the rollout of a direct competitor, Reels, which has been launched in more than 50 countries ,including the US, UK, Japan, and Australia, on both IOS and Android. This blog will help you understand how to maximise Instagram for business and your video marketing across social media marketing.

Ready to kick start your social media marketing?

Similar to TikTok, Reels lets people create short-form videos set to music or another audio that can be shared with friends and followers and discovered while browsing the app. It’s the newest opportunity for Instagram to bring in users, increase the amount of time people spend in the app every day, and establish itself as a video entertainment platform. Reels allows people to record videos up to 15 seconds long and add popular music, as well as an array of filters and effects, over top of them. For businesses looking to  use Instagram for business, reels are a great way to build a following and improve video marketing, Instagram has revamped its Explore page to create a specific landing spot for Reels at the top of the screen that people can vertically scroll through. This is similar to TikToks “For You Page.”

Since Instagram Reels is TikTok’s rival, it’s worth discussing how they’re similar and/or different. The essence of Instagram Reels and TikTok is the same: providing users with a creative space to create and share short videos with others. They come with creative options, allowing users to make their best possible clips, especially when using Instagram for business.

Social media marketing guide

Are you ready to try Instagram for business?

In terms of social media marketing it can be too soon to say Instagram Reels will be successful as its predecessor, Stories. But one thing for sure is that it gives you a new way to create more compelling content, better understand your followers, and increase your reach on Instagram. So, just give it a try. From a single dashboard, you can schedule and publish posts, engage the audience, and measure performance. When Instagram Stories was first launched in 2016, it was called a Snapchat clone. But Instagram Stories quickly surpassed Snapchat in daily users and has become an effective channel for brands to build their audience. With that in mind, brands should grab the opportunity to be the first creators on Instagram Reels and engage a new kind of audience, people who prefer quick and easily digestible content. Besides, brands can collaborate with new creative talents to experiment with Reels content they create.

Here’s how to do it:

Select Reels at the bottom of the Instagram camera. You’ll see a variety of creative editing tools on the left side of your screen to help create your reel, including:

Audio: Search for a song from the Instagram music library. You can also use your own original audio by simply recording a reel with it. When you share a reel with original audio, your audio will be attributed to you, and if you have a public account, people can create reels with your audio by selecting “Use Audio” from your reel.

Effects: Select one of the many effects in the effect gallery, created both by Instagram and creators all over the world, to record multiple clips with different effects.

Timer and Countdown: Set the timer to record any of your clips hands-free. Once you press record, you’ll see a 3-2-1 countdown, before recording begins for the amount of time you selected.

Align: Line up objects from your previous clip before recording your next to help create seamless transitions for moments like outfit changes or adding friends into your reel.

Speed: Choose to speed up or slow down part of the video or audio you selected. This can help you stay on a beat or make slow motion videos.

So lets get ready to maximise Social media marketing

Whether you have a public or private account, you can share your reel to your Story, close friends, or in a direct message. If you do so, your reel will behave like a regular Story. It will not be shared to Reels in Explore, it will not appear on your profile, and it will disappear after 24 hours.

One more thing about Reels is that they sit  in the Explore page, a place that more than 50% of Instagram accounts use every month. If your reel is shown on this page, you have a huge chance to expose your brand to new followers. If big names like Maybelline, Sephora, or Louis Vuitton have been using Reels from day one, and if you’re already using Instagram for your business, why not give Reels a try?
