Here’s How To Succeed As An Influencer And To Impress Video Production Studios

Have you ever wonder how social media stars launched their empires? Below, we looked at wide range of people to find out what the daily grind of #influencing is really like that video production companies would be quite impressed.

Shallon Lester

As a full-time YouTuber, Shallon Lester recently relocated to Montana after a decade in New York City. The published author has over 500,000 followers and 70 million video views. After making a viral video series, she began to realize this might be a career. She wasn’t quite ready to quit her job.

“So I created my own channel focusing on dating advice videos for girls and uploaded twice a month,” she said.

In 2019, she filmed a short video production titled “How To Spot A Liar” about Jordyn Woods, Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s love triangle. “I realized my niche was taking pop culture news and turning it into something from which we can learn,” .”Two months later, Lester became a full-time YouTuber and hasn’t looked back.

“I have to make sure I have other products and platforms like TikTok and Instagram, etc.,” she said. “I have what I call a ‘business octopus’ with ‘tentacles’ that include books, a podcast, consulting service, trips and retreats, a clothing line, jewellery collaborations.”

Lester cautions that social media in and of itself isn’t really monetizable. “They don’t run ads the way YouTube does. You could have 10 million followers on those platforms, and you’re not going to make a dime,” she said.

David Payette

David Payette is one-half of David from the Payette Forward YouTube channel, which has collected roughly 878,000 subscribers just since 2015. He described his journey to a full-time YouTuber as “circuitous and challenging,” he couldn’t have done it without David Lynch. Payette had been working at the Apple Store before he quit his job, with the intention of starting a business. He wrote a blog post called “Why Does My iPhone Battery Die So Fast? Here’s The Fix!”

Within six months, 5 million people had read the post — the only one he had ever written. “Three months later, I was living on Maui and writing easy-to-read iPhone help articles full-time,” he said. “I started what grew into the largest iPhone help Facebook group later that year. I drew upon that audience to give my new channel a boost.”

In 2016, Payette moved back to New York and met David Lynch now his YouTube co-host. “David had just graduated from college, had his own YouTube channel, and our interests aligned across the board. David became a full-time employee the next year,” he said of his 27-year-old partner in crime.

The duo also makes money through purchases from Amazon affiliate links for headphones that they review. Occasionally, they also do brand partnerships, but Payette says they reject 99 percent of the offers they receive.

Stina Garbis

A psychic tarot reader and TikTok influencer based in Corvallis, Ore., Stina Garbis, 46. Garbis amassed some 203,000 followers on the social media video platform since August 2020. She had been a professional psychic for several years, growing her business through avenues like advertising on Yelp, people finding her locally through Google or word of mouth. “It’s been a sleepy business for me,” she said.

That is, until, “I have a client tell me about TikTok and how she was seeing conflicting tarot readings on the app. Curious, I downloaded the app and was shocked to see how popular tarot is. So I upload a simple video that took a couple of minutes to make, and I am shocked to instantly get 2,500 views. I was instantly addicted and had my first viral video in a month, and my client list began increasing dramatically.”

Samantina Zenon

Actor, author and lifestyle content creator Samantina Zenon, 31, of Woodside, NY, has been at it on social media for the past five years, working with more than 500 international brands. She’s most active on Instagram, where she post short video productions to around 33,000 followers.

“I originally started being a social media influencer as a way to build my brand,” she said. “Over the years it has opened doors to many opportunities for me such as getting invited to exclusive events and New York Fashion Week and collaborating with many luxurious brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Muggler and many more,” Zenon said.

Christine Carter

Christine Carter, 35 has 80,000 social media followers across platforms and yet still maintains her day job as a goods marketing strategist. Unlike many influencers, she says her secret to success is that she didn’t quit her full-time position.

“In fact, the unique reason why I have such a large following is that I’m an everyday mom just like my followers, working and juggling single parenthood at the same time,” she said. “I decided to start advocating for working moms after becoming one, and having to pump breast milk in a bathroom stall because my employer had no mother’s room,” she said. “I wanted to use social media platforms to share with women their rights as a working parent, and help them through articles, tools and resources to understand that they could remain — and thrive — in the workforce.”

Rachel Binder

Rachel Binder is proof you don’t have to amass a giant following for a lucrative hustle. With some 8,300 Instagram followers and she’s found that they engage enough to support all of her distribution direct-to-consumer. “I sell out of everything that I make,” she said.

She combines a love of wine with her fragrance obsession to make dreamy scent scapes. “I extract fruit aromatics out of actual fruit without the use of synthetics,” she said.

The Benefits Of A Mirrorless Camera For Video Production?

Mirrorless cameras are rising in popularity. As their technology improves, many professional video production company’s / videographers are opting for these cameras over DSLRs. What makes the mirrorless camera so popular today? Featuring large sensors, interchangeable lenses, and manual controls, mirrorless cameras offer many advantages of a DSLR but without the bulk.

They manage to maintain smaller size by eliminating optical viewfinders and flip-up mirrors. Here are seven benefits of mirrorless cameras.

They are smaller

Almost without fail, the biggest factor you’ll consider when comparing mirrorless cameras with DSLRs is size.

Mirrorless cameras can be more compact cameras because they don’t have a mirror box. These smaller dimensions make mirrorless cameras a great option for journalists short on space.

Naturally the size depends entirely on the model you buy. You can get small micro four thirds cameras that are pocketable. You can even get large full frame mirrorless cameras that aren’t all that different to a DSLR.

They are lighter

As with size, the lighter weight can also be one of the mirrorless camera’s most significant benefits.

Without the heavy mirror box, mirrorless cameras can be lighter than DSLRs, relieving your shoulders and neck of the strain you get carrying around a heavy DSLR.

Once again, a mirrorless camera’s weight all depends on the sensor size. But a DSLR camera will typically weigh at least 300 grams more than its mirrorless equivalent.

That may not sound like much but most photographers want to reduce weight as much as possible, especially if they’re likely to be out and about with their camera a lot.

They are quieter

DSLRs make that telltale shutter sound that tells you when the mirror has swung to admit light.

Without a mirror, mirrorless cameras can be almost silent, depending on the mode selected. They’re significantly quieter than DSLRs, which is a huge bonus when you’re photographing a wedding ceremony or a cathedral.

They have high quality electronic viewfinders

The live electronic viewfinders found on some mirrorless cameras have proven to be exceptionally handy.

Replacing optical viewfinders on DSLRs, electronic viewfinders can provide a live preview of how images becoming recorded. This means you can see and correct the results of exposure and white balance before you actually shoot. This is particularly handy for long-exposure night photography.

The top brass of mirrorless cameras come with impressive OLED displays for their viewfinders, which deliver high resolution and a bright, detailed scene.

Even better, you can often customise screen info, enable a magnified view to help you manually focus, or show a live histogram while you’re adjusting settings.

Electronic viewfinders are hugely beneficial for videographers because they actually work! The optical viewfinders in DSLRs are virtually useless, whereas EVFs continuously show the scene while you’re recording.

They’re unassuming and non-threatening

Unlike DSLRs, mirrorless cameras don’t look so professional and daunting. This often makes portrait subjects more relaxed and natural.

They’re also handy when you want to subtly capture street photography or sights where professional cameras are typically forbidden or require a permit.

More autofocus points with a greater spread

Because there’s no mirror in the way, mirrorless cameras tend to have a higher number of focus points, which can be spread across the whole frame.

This is a special advantage of mirrorless cameras, meaning you have much greater control over which area of the frame you want to focus on.

5 Tips For Videographers To Capture Beautiful Landscape Footage For Video Production

Whether you’re shooting for your latest narrative or documentary feature or looking to get some beautiful shots for your travel blog or a video production landscape footage can be both challenging and fun. Let’s look at five key practices to help ensure you as a videographer capture the best and most beautiful landscape footage possible for your next post on a video marketing website.

1. Mind the Horizon and Your Composition

When setting up your shot, your first composition decision is going to be where to sort your horizon line. If you follow the rule of thirds (more on the concept here), you have some options. You can put the horizon on the bottom line if you’d like your viewer to focus on the sky. You can put the horizon on the top if you’d like to focus on the land. Plus can also put the horizon down the very middle to create symmetry.

Whatever you choose, feel free to experiment. However, unless you’re going for a canted-angle look, be sure your tripod or stand is accurately calibrated to the ground, or your horizon line could look uneven.

2. Check the Light and the Clouds

As the greatest light source there is, the sun’s position can drastically change your landscape footage in many ways. For science geeks, it’s fun to note that the sun even affects night shoots. However, during the day, you can use the sun as part of your landscape footage by either shooting with it at your back, or shooting into it. You can also utilize the high noon sun to temporarily shoot without shadows, or use dusk or dawn light to get fantastic new colors.

Also keep an eye out for clouds and try to find ways to incorporate them into your compositions. Shooting time-lapse footage (more on that below) can add great dynamism, and it can add to your framing by creating beautiful counterpoints to the land below.

3. Vary the Focus

From there, you have compositional options for objects in the foreground, middle ground, and background. If you’re not familiar with those terms, here’s a great article that breaks down the multiple composition planes. To really utilize all three, consider putting objects in the immediate foreground just barely on the edges of the frames to provide perspective. Find shots that have interesting features in the middle ground as well before opening up into the wide background across the horizon and sky.

You can also experiment with depth-of-field and where you set your focus between the foreground, middle ground, and background. Add ND filters to help you stop down to get shallower DOF too. You can also try rack-focuses to move the focus across the landscape (here’s a good article on that).

These tips so far will help your video marketing agency or video production company grow and like one of our previous blogs says one day u might be able to make money off of this.

4. Find or Create Movement

Perhaps the greatest trick you can use for your landscape videography (for a videographer) to distinguish it from your regular landscape photography is to add or create movement. You can start by using simple pans and tilts. A pan that starts on an object close in the foreground then reveals the wide landscape in the background is a great approach. It also helps to find movement even in a static frame. A car running down a highway or people moving across the screen will add more visual information for viewers to latch onto and will make your video marketing grow.

From there you can add other types of movement utilizing sliders — or even create movement on your own by using time-lapses including clouds, shadows, and the sun. Check out some more camera movement tips and tricks below.

5. Consider Time-Lapse

Time-lapses are a great way to really capture the majesty of the outdoors. To take a time-lapse, you have a couple of options. First you can simply record footage for 10-12 minutes (or longer), which you can speed up in post. However this takes up a good deal of card and drive space. You can also use an interval meter to take a series of photos over a set period as well.

If you’re a new videographer or blogger then it might take some time for it all to catch on. One day you might even be doing it in your dreams.

Video Production Companies, 12 Most Exciting Cameras 2022

The photographer’s curse is that, no matter how good your current kit is, a crucial missing piece is just around the corner. Yes, your camera is better than almost every photographic tool from the past 150 years, but the cameras of 2022? They’re destined to hit ‘Peak Photography’. Elevating your almost-great Instagram feed to new heights. Video Production Companies and videographers in Kent will be glad with the upcoming cameras in 2022.

Even when we know it’s a mirage that somehow doesn’t dampen the fun of camera future-gazing. And there are good reasons to believe that 2022 will be another great year for camera launches. Aside from the realities of chip shortages, we have fully-cooked mirror-less systems from Canon, Sony, Nikon and Panasonic.

Against all odds, 2021 was a vintage year for new cameras, even if that hasn’t yet been reflected in shipments and sales. That momentum is likely to continue into 2022, with the year looking particularly exciting for hobbyist shooters. Now that the big players have established their pro bodies.

The 12 most exciting cameras of 2022:

12. Leica M11

Leica cameras are mainly exciting to those with bulging Bitcoin wallets. The Leica M11 isn’t yet official, but it’s an almost-certainty given recent leaked images.

The latest whispers from the likes of Leica Rumors suggest the M11 will have a new 60MP full-frame sensor, with modes for snaps to help manage your file sizes. More controversially, it seems Leica will be removing the baseplate design that’s been a staple of M-series cameras since 1954.

11. OM System camera

Aren’t Olympus cameras dead? Yes, officially deceased since the announcement in October that the new owners of Olympus’ imaging arm would be releasing models under a fresh ‘OM System’ brand. However, the spirit of the company, whose cameras date back to 1936.

The company has promised that it’s “developing a new interchangeable lens camera” for the Micro Four Thirds system. Interestingly, OM System says it will improve image quality “through the use of computational photographic technology.” This is slightly ironic, given that Olympus effectively blamed smartphones for the demise of its cameras.

Not that OM System will be entirely new to computational photography. Olympus cameras have previously pioneered software tricks like Live ND, which composited multiple images in-camera to create a slow-shutter effect. And it’s this heritage that OM System is planning to build on with its new release. What will the camera look like? It’s not clear yet, but there’s a clue at the bottom of the image above.

10. Nikon Z f

The least likely camera in this list to see a 2022 launch is also one of the most exciting. The formula demanded by Nikon fans is simple. Take the glorious design of the Nikon Z f and apply it to a full-frame mirror-less camera. Then call it the Nikon Z f and start printing money.

The good news for those hoping for a Nikon Z f is that sales of the Z fc appear to be strong. In July, Nikon released a statement warning of delays to Z fc shipments due to demand outstripping supply – although it’s possible this was also due to reduced production capacity. A 2023 launch is perhaps more likely, but Nikon could surprise us.

9. DJI Mini

For many photographers, drones have taken one of the hottest contested spots in their camera bags. A drone’s ability to combine unique angles with increasingly impressive quality.

A 4K drone that’s about the same size as a mid-range zoom, the Mini 2 is ideal for roaming photographers and YouTubers. Having been released in November 2020, it’s also potentially due an upgrade in 2022.

A Twitter account called Deals Drone, has confidently predicted that the DJI Mini 3 will be launched in April 2022. This isn’t based on any particular leaks. But a DJI Mini 3, with new features like a mode and Active Track focusing, would certainly be a welcome arrival. And given that the DJI Mavic 3 has now launched, our money is on that happening sometime in 2022.

8. Panasonic GH6

A dead cert for a 2022 release, the Panasonic GH6 has already been officially announced.

Strangely, we saw a Panasonic GH5 Mark II arrive this year, but that camera is aimed more at live-streamers. The true successor to the classic Panasonic GH5, which landed way back in January 2017, is the GH6, and it’s shaping up to be another popular choice for those who have been priced out of full-frame video cameras like the Sony A7S III.

7. Canon EOS R5c

Sorry, Panasonic – the GH6 might turn out to be a real zinger of a camera, but it doesn’t quite match the prospect of a video-focused version of the Canon EOS R5. That’s exactly what we’re expecting from the Canon EOS R5c, which is now rumored to be launching “in the first quarter of 2022,” according to the reliable Canon Rumors.

6. Alice Camera

The Alice Camera is an exciting prospect for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s a new camera that hasn’t been made by the traditional photography stalwarts. But it’s also bringing genuinely new ideas to the table, thanks to its combination of Micro Four Thirds hardware, computational photography and a mount for your phone.

The idea is simple: bring the slick menus, connectivity and multi-frame processing of smartphones to a mirrorless camera with a larger sensor. The Alice Camera wants to be the choice for creators who are looking to upgrade to a more powerful system for video and photos. Its maker thinks traditional cameras are stuck in the past when it comes to interfaces and social media uploads, and it has a good point.

It’s fascinating stuff that we’re looking forward to trying out when it makes its belated bow this year.

5. Canon EOS R1

The EOS R1 will be a mirror-less equivalent of its 5D-series DSLRs – all-rounders that are suited to pretty much any shooting situation. So far, the only speculation is that it could have an even higher resolution than the EOS R5.

4. Nikon Z30

The arrival of the Nikon Z fc in June somewhat dampened previous speculation about a new entry-level mirrorless camera, which the rumor mill tentatively called the Nikon Z30. But according to Nikon Rumors, a camera that sits below the Nikon Z50 and Nikon Z fc is still en route, and we’re penciling it in for a release in 2022.

Of course, the global chip shortage could intervene, but there is a definite gap in Nikon’s camera lineup for an affordable, beginner camera. In January this year, it surprisingly discontinued DSLRs like the Nikon D3500, which has historically been a popular choice for anyone looking to upgrade to their first ‘proper’ camera.

3. Sony A7R V

Baffled by the absence of Sony cameras in this list so far? There are a couple of reasons for this. First, it’s been a stellar year for new Alpha launches, with the Sony A1, Sony ZV-E10 and Sony A7 IV all arriving in 2021. Rather than launch a new Sony RX100 series compact camera, it also launched the Sony Xperia Pro-I smartphone.

But another major factor is the global chip shortage, which is rumored to be pushing back Sony’s camera launches for 2022. The two cameras in its lineup that are in need of refreshing are the high-resolution Sony A7R IV and sports-focused Sony A9 II. And sure enough, the two big rumored launches for 2022 are the Sony A7R V and Sony A9 III.

Both are highly anticipated by pro snappers, but we think the Sony A7R V is the slightly more exciting prospect. There have been wild rumors about its possible specs, including video powers, 20fps burst shooting and a new flip-out screen. But we’re trying not to get too excited, given that Sony Alpha Rumors thinks new Sony cameras will arrive in 2022 at the earliest.

2. Fujifilm X-H2

While Canon, Sony and Nikon have all focused their attention on full-frame mirrorless cameras, Fujifilm has been quietly refining its line of X-series cameras. These offer a blend of size, power and affordability that remains a fine alternative to full-frame powerhouses. In 2022 the range is expected to move into its next generation with the Fujifilm X-H2.

The long-awaited successor to the Fujifilm X-H1 from 2018, the X-H2 is likely to deliver a new, stacked APS-C sensor for a boost. Stacked sensors, which have appeared in recent flagship full-frame cameras like the Sony A1, Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9, offer faster read-out speeds than backside-illuminated chips.

1. Canon EOS R7

It’s been fun watching Canon, Sony and Nikon duke it out this year to see who can make the best, money-no-object mirrorless camera. But not many car enthusiasts own McLaren supercars, and the likes of the Sony A1 and Canon EOS R3 are similar propositions. In 2022, it’s time to see some of that technology filter down to a more affordable camera for the masses.

6 Reasons Why Video Marketing Is Important Than Ever

It’s well known that content marketing is an effective way to build your brand and reach your target audience. In fact, according to a report by Demand Metric, 83% of marketers say that video is more important than ever. This is reflected by WYZ Owl statistics which show 87% of businesses use video Production as a marketing tool. In this article, we’ll take a look at what Social media video production content marketing is, as well as give you some great video marketing agency ideas.

What is Video Marketing Agency?

What Is Video Marketing Agency?

Video marketing agency is when brands produce Social media video production content to raise their profile online. social media video production is usually published on either YouTube or a social network, although it can also come in the form of webinars, courses, live video, or self-hosted video.

When done well, video can be a powerful way for a brand to spread its message in a way that is easily accessible to a large audience. It works with both B2C and B2B content strategies.

The great thing about video production is that it is becoming easier and easier to do effectively. The number of options marketers have mean there really is something for every business, even those without traditional video recording or editing skills.

Here are five reasons why video content marketing is more important than ever.

Videos are a Great Way to Explain Your Product

Videos Are A Great Way To Explain Product

Video content is a useful tool when it comes to helping potential buyers learn about a product. In fact, according to WYZ Owl, 94% of marketers say using video content has helped increase user understanding of a product or service.

Customers will only buy your product when they understand what it does and how it will help them. It is unsurprising that video content is such a good tool for this as the visual element helps businesses clearly explain how things work.

Check out this video by Dropbox which is a great example of how a video content can be used to effectively explain what a product is all about.

Videos Have a Good Return on Investment

The return on investment you get from your video will depend on several things including how well you have organised your content strategy and the quality of your videos. Nonetheless, 83% of WYZ Owl survey respondents say video gives them a good return on investment.

You may think of social media video production as being expensive and time-consuming to produce. But there is plenty of technology out there which makes it possible to create good video fast and without a large budget.

Not only do most of us have high-quality video recorders in our pockets in the form of smartphones, but software solutions like Video Scribe and Doodly make it easy to create engaging explainer videos at a low cost. Spending less when you produce your videos means it’s easier to get a positive ROI.

You Can Use Video Production in a Variety of Ways

Marketers have plenty of options when it comes to how they use social media video production content. This means it’s easy to find a method that fits in with your company’s marketing goals. While YouTube is the obvious place to start when creating videos, here are some of the other options you could use:

  • Most social media platforms including Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube allow you to post stories that disappear after a certain amount of time. These are great because they can be super quick and cheap to create and they speak directly to your audience. For stories to be effective, you’ll need to have—or be building—an audience on social media.
  • Live video has grown in recent years with industry giants like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch all offering ways for businesses to stream live content. Live video can be effective. Facebook said that live streams get six times as many interactions as regular videos.
  • Webinars are a great way to use social media video production to interact directly with your potential customers. They can be used to answer specific questions customers may have about your product, or to teach the audience something about your industry, thereby establishing yourself as an authority. Software like Go To Webinar or Livestorm makes it easy for businesses to put on (or even automatise) webinars. Check out one of the webinars we have created at Act! on how to create landing pages to generate more leads from your website.
  • Another innovative way of using video is on a one-to-one level. Marketers can record and send quick messages to follow up on purchases or inquiries. This can improve the customer experience.

People Love Social Media Video Production SEO

Just like technology has made it easy for businesses to record a video, it has also made it incredibly convenient for people to watch video content. There are a ton of stats that illustrate this point. Here are some of the most compelling:

  • In 2017, the official YouTube blog said people watch over a billion hours of YouTube content every single day.
  • Earlier this year, Twitter revealed there are 2 billion video views on its platform every day. Additionally, tweets with video get 10 times more engagement than those without.
  • Digiday says Facebook has over 8 billion video views a day. Interestingly, 85 percent of these are viewed without sound.

If you aren’t creating video, you risk missing out on one of the most popular ways that people consume content.

Videos are Great for SEO

Uploading videos to YouTube that target common search terms can be a good way to get your business on the first page of Google. That’s because Google includes YouTube videos at the top of the page for many search terms.

Here is an example of this in action. When you search for the terms “How to edit videos on iPhone,” Google shows three videos below the featured snippet and the “People also ask” section, but above the regular search results.

In this instance, of the three results, one is for video editing app Filmora. Anyone who clicks on this link will find out how to edit videos on their iPhone using the Filmora app.

As well as potential exposure on Google, videos will also appear when people search for things on YouTube. This is significant as in 2017, Moz and Jump shot found YouTube had the third highest share of the U.S. search market, after only Google.com and Google Images.

Wrapping Up

Video is a great way for marketers to reach people. It is easier than ever before for businesses to create and share high-quality social media video production content. If you don’t already have video as part of your content strategy, then perhaps you should think about experimenting with a couple of projects.
